Menopause check

Menopause literally means the last menstrual period but, as women know, it can mean other physical changes that need addressing.

We have been providing a specialist menopause service 'Menocheck' for over 20 years. Our doctors are experts in this field and are up-to-date with the latest menopause treatments, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

At Marie Stopes International, the service we offer includes:

• a medical history, including any symptoms
• cervical smear test (using liquid cytology - the most reliable test available) 
• blood pressure check 
• height and weight 
• urine analysis 
• hormone profile (as required) 
• breast, abdominal and pelvic examination 
• time to talk

If both you and the doctor feel that HRT is appropriate, then you will be offered treatment, usually on a three-month trial basis. After this you will be asked to return for a check-up to see how you are getting on. You may choose to continue to visit our specialists or return to your own GP. With your permission we can inform your GP of our recommendations.
